You know, it wasn't my favorite for a while, but for some reason i decided to listen to it on loop a few weeks ago and now I can't stop thinking about it.
I love the synths, the tone, the lyricism, even the music videos which I feel I should mention!!!
(also, should've been me reminds me a bit of abba which is an automatic bonus in my book) praisedrays
Though I'll never be considered cool enough for PNW indie rock, I regard Joan/Garden as an instant classic, a sonic voyage that could be their Floyd/Echoes. Chris Funk's solo experiments with the granular Arbhar sound pay off handsomely here. Joan frequently departs from the main melody, entering another realm of semi-consciousness, before reuniting the whole. Someday their best compilation won't be “hits” but extended songs, incl Joan; Tain; California 1; Rusalka; Island; Crane W. quailman
It's been a long time since the last new Ben Folds album, and I like this one better than Way to Normal or So There. The only exception is the single, "Exhausting Lover," which I always skip. "Winslow Gardens" is my favorite track. bergitis
